For nearly a century, Café Wolthoorn & Co has been the jewel in the crown of the Ellebogenbuurt, a renowned nightlife area in the heart of Groningen.
The exterior gives no hint of how surprising the interior is; an authentic brown pub, surrounded by paintings and poetry, a popular billiards table in the center, and plenty of mirrors so you don't miss a thing. A pub where you are not only seen but also heard, and where you even enjoy table service, as long as it gets busy.
The bartenders are one of a kind; they go to great lengths to never have to say no and to maintain the warm atmosphere. It is largely thanks to them that the Wolthoorn climbed to first place in the national Café Top 100 in 2008. Once inside, you gain an extra living room where you always feel welcome.
