On the ground floor of the hotel, you will find Café Willem Albert, where it is always buzzing! Located right in the middle of the Grote Markt, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, or a luxurious high tea here. On the spacious terrace, you can experience the lively city atmosphere, while the warm, homey setting inside makes you feel right at home.
At Café Willem Albert, you can taste dishes from Dutch cuisine with a fresh and contemporary twist. In the mood for something sweet? Visit our own Bakkerij Westers for fresh pastries, artisan bread, or coffee to go. Or enjoy The Market High Tea, freshly prepared by our pastry team, an ode to our WestCord baking family.

About The Market Hotel en Café Willem Albert
The Market Hotel has 123 hotel rooms, spread over six floors. In addition, there is a large restaurant called Café Willem Albert with a terrace on the Grote Markt and Nieuwe Markt, featuring a high-end bar.
In the kitchen of the Willem Albert Café, we serve traditional Dutch dishes with a modern twist. The Market Hotel also has its own bakery, Bakkerij Westers. Furthermore, there are meeting rooms and a Welcome Wellness area where guests can visit the gym, enjoy massages, or relax in the sauna.
A terrace with an amazing view over the city of Groningen is also being built on the roof!

Junior Sous Chef
Ready for the next step in the kitchen? The Market Hotel & Café Willem Albert is looking for an ambitious chef who wants to progress to Junior Sous Chef.
Do you love cooking and want to develop towards a leadership role? The Junior Sous Chef position at The Market Hotel & Café Willem Albert could be for you.
As Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will carefully prepare delicious dishes, run your own section and contribute during busy services. You enjoy getting stuck in, remain calm under pressure and help create a positive kitchen atmosphere. Guest satisfaction is your goal, and you welcome a challenge.
You start your shift with the team, discussing the day's plans: mise en place, bookings and any groups. You work together through lunch and dinner to keep service running smoothly. There is always room for a joke, as well as learning from one another and improving together.
