Messing around with rosé? Don't make me laugh!

WWhat's in? What's out? Summer drink, hype, wine for ladies, and…? Rosé is rosé, so let's not mess with rosé. Of course, we sell more bottles of this delicious juice one year than another, but rosé has truly earned its place in the wine world (period).

Perhaps slightly tastier in fine weather than in the rain, but a ray of sunshine makes us all cheerful. Recently, during a heavy downpour, I tasted the Cabaret rosé. Olivier Sumeire produces a series of beautiful rosé wines from his vineyards in the small southern French village of Trets, including this delicious Cabaret. The grapes used are 30% Cinsault and 70% Grenache, which are stored at a low temperature immediately after harvesting. This process creates the light salmon-pink color and refined aromas so characteristic of good Provence rosé. Unlike the more exuberant and candy-like rosés, this pale pink Provence is very suitable for serving with refined meals and as a serious aperitif.

I can't help but burst out laughing when I look at the name of the wine: Cabaret!
