Healthy and delicious: fresh strawberries (and the best ones don't need sugar). On a rusk, as a refreshing snack, or incorporated into a summery fruit dessert.
I love it, but it becomes heavenly in combination with Brachetto d’Acqui 2011, a light-alcoholic and sparkling red wine.
Strangely enough, the red one is Brachetto Little known in the Netherlands, while the wine is wildly popular in Italy. It is, therefore, the perfect wine for summery desserts with red and black fruit. With only 5% alcohol and the beautiful balance between sweetness and freshness, Brachetto tastes fantastic with fresh fruit, Bavarian cream, and fruit tarts.
I recently gave the bottle to a customer along with a box of strawberries... I didn't want to withhold his reaction from you. Thanks for the delicious strawberries with “de 12”. A little bruised here and there, but the taste hadn't suffered. The wine that went with it was truly s-u-p-e-r! I would love to have a few more bottles of that, especially for the ladies who “don't like wine”!
