From now on, Wietze Snaak, owner of Jos Beeres Wijnkoperij and Wine Merchant of the Year 2011, will regularly appear on our website in the form of a column. These will cover the ups and downs of the wine world, with a strong focus on wine advice, tips, and food and wine pairings.
About Wietze Snaak
On November 4, 1997, I started as the youngest shop assistant at Jos Beeres in the premises on Oude Kijk in ’t Jatstraat. After much traveling through various wine countries around the world – and gaining experience in winemaking – I took over Jos Beeres together with my partner Anouschka on November 1, 2007 (10 years later). Combining a magnificent product like wine with trade is ideal. When you see that people have success with the wines we purchase and enjoy them, then the story makes sense!
