A meal outdoors, sitting informally on the grass in a spot in the wild… I know where to find them.
Especially on summer days, we feel drawn to picnicking. A wicker basket full of delicious food and drinks*.
Picnic is derived from the French word pique-nique, composed of piquer meaning “to pick up” and nique meaning “trifle”.
The wine must not be forgotten in the basket. Preferably a light white wine from Alsace or the rosé from that was awarded yesterday. Rimauresq.
During the 24th Proefschrift Wine Competition, three of our wines were chosen as Rosé of the Year. My personal favorite is definitely the one from Rimauresq.
Subtle aroma with a light spiciness and delicate red fruit. Complex and full-bodied on the palate, with a persistent finish. A very refined and balanced dry rosé.
…and when the bottle is empty, fall asleep blissfully… languid but satisfied!
