Who is my wine buddy? DUTCH NEW BREAKFASTS

Have you let them slide down yet? Those delicious, fuller, fattier Dutch New Herring… and according to the connoisseurs, even better than last year.

Perhaps we are influenced by the idea that this one is newer and therefore tastier. Do you remember how it tasted around this time last year?

Fortunately, I know a bit more about wine, so for me, the challenge is to find the best wine companion for the herring. The raw herring provides the saltiness of the sea, the texture—whether or not accompanied by onion—from Dutch fields. Then the wine simply has to come from the land of Holland. A very fresh white Bordeaux: Entre-deux-Mers. Chateau Darzac manages to surprise me with a refined dry white with a hint of saltiness. Available in full and half bottles… so a bottle of quality for the little herring too. Long live the Dutch new herring and the wine of Holland!
