Blues Tour Groningen 2026

Blues Tour Groningen, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, the 16th edition. This year, on February 28, 2026, the Blues Tour Groningen will take place for the 16th time in the center of Groningen. The Blues Tour Groningen started in 2009 as an initiative by enthusiasts Wim Angerman and Wim Entzinger. It started small in five cafes, but this year there are 16 locations where blues is being played, still free to attend! All locations are in or near the city center, so you can easily attend various performances on this evening.

Over the years, locations have dropped out and others have been added.
During the first years, the center of activity was in the Elleboogbuurt, sometimes with as many as six participating cafes. That is also where the only cafe that has participated in all Blues Tours is located, Café Wolthoorn & Co.

Nowadays, the locations are more spread out throughout the city center or just outside it, and there are more participating eateries. As a result, the start time at a number of locations is also a bit earlier, at 9:00 PM.
New locations this year are La Martina, Eetbar Luke, Café Lily and (after an absence of a few years) Café de Minnaar.

Blues is no longer solely the domain of the older man, but is enjoyed by all ages, from young to old. The festival is designed to appeal to enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are a seasoned blues lover or simply looking for a new musical experience, Blues Tour Groningen has something to offer everyone. From the one-man performer with subdued blues, to raw blues-rock bands, classic blues, country and bluegrass, and even boogie, there is something for everyone.

Current organizers Willem Koster and Maarten Linskens have once again put together a great program for this year. Old favorites include Ed Baker and the Boogie Machine, Bluesheat, King King Kings, Herbie Blues, and Ralph de Jong. New acts this year include Byrchwood, Cat Fever Band, Baked Beans, and State of the Art.
