Relief of Groningen

Various traditional elements of the ‘Bommen Berend’ program will feature, such as the horse inspection at the Ossenmarkt, numerous theatre performances throughout the city and province, a summer fair, and a spectacular re-actment (live spectacle) at the Martini Churchyard performed by 100 extras, in which one of the many battle scenes will be re-enacted. You can find the full program here: Relief of Groningen 2022

Labor market shortages are increasing

Fewer and fewer people available for more and more jobs is one of the problems currently grappling with the Dutch economy. In the second quarter of 2022, 16,000 new vacancies were added nationwide, while the average number of unemployed people decreased by 11,000. This brings the total number of jobs to approximately 94,000 vacancies in the Netherlands, while unemployment has reached its lowest point since 2003. The Groningen hospitality industry could also use many extra hands. Would you like to work in the hospitality industry? Then take a look at our: job overview
