ImpressFest 2017 – June 20 to June 24

ImpressFest is the annual showcase festival for art, theatre, media, and music in Groningen. Since 2011, we have been introducing you to the city's young talent, the best of our students, and the products developed within our degree programs throughout the year. ImpressFest presents all this talent under one umbrella and, for five days, gives ample space to young talent eager to conquer the world of art and culture.

All directions

The festival was originally created as a platform for graduating students to present their final products.

All disciplines contribute to the programming and organization of the festival.

The technical aspects, lighting, and sound are handled by the Stage & Event Technology program. The organization is in the hands of Event Organization students. Musicians, artists, and filmmakers present selected work, ranging from site-specific performances to singer-songwriters, and from short films to 3D exhibitions.

Multimedia students design the website, application, and PR and promo material, as well as the decoration of the festival.

Large production

Every year, a major performance is also created by talented makers from the North. This year “There's no business…” made by Koos Kregel (Hairspray) and Fragments from a Human Garden directed by Taco van Dijk (including De Jongens)
