On Sunday, June 25, Lions Club Groningen Zuid is organizing the Midsummer Music at the Lake benefit at De Rietschans on Lake Paterswold.
From 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, various bands will perform free of charge, including Kreisler Trio, Lies Akkerman, Soft Skins Jazzband, Basin Street Big Band, Society Jazz Band, and Men in Black. Wonderful prizes will be raffled off throughout the day. The staff of De Rietschans will donate the contents of the tip jar for that day.
The proceeds will go to two charities: equipment for water sports association VWDTP for adaptive sailing for the disabled, and supporting the Bestevaer Sea Scouts group of Water Scouting Groningen Haren.
Lions help wherever they can, and not only because it is one of the main objectives of the Lions organization. They simply enjoy doing so, in all kinds of ways. Every Lions Club organizes campaigns and events to raise funds for charities by rolling up their sleeves and getting to work as volunteers.
Lions Club Groningen Zuid is organizing the Midsummer event for the first time and hopes that it can become an annual event. Admission is free.
