Biertunnel offers cafe guests a choice of 1,500 beers.

On Monday, November 23, 2015, André Baars, Mayor of Ermelo, opened a genuine beer tunnel, a ‘beer connection’ between beer shop Burg Bieren and specialty beer café de Hazeburg in Ermelo.

In April 2014, construction began on the ‘beer tunnel’ project to create a connection between beer shop Burg Bieren and specialty beer café de Hazeburg in Ermelo. Thanks to this tunnel, it is now possible to order all 1,500 types of beer available in the beer shop at the café. This makes café de Hazeburg the largest beer café in the Netherlands in terms of its diverse beer selection. In the café, you can find the beer menu on one of the available iPads or on your own smartphone via www.biertunnel.nlAdditionally, you can already take a look at the virtual beer menu from home.

Once the café guest has made their choice and ordered the beer, the ‘beer tunnel’ process begins. In the beer shop, the beer in question is put on transport through the beer tunnel. Along the way, the beer passes through a cooling machine where it remains for approximately 3 to 5 minutes. Afterward, the beer travels on automatically, eventually emerging at the end of the journey in the café. There, the beer is served to the guest, who can enjoy a deliciously chilled specialty beer. As an extra fun gadget, you can follow the beer during transport on a television screen in the café to get into the drinking mood!
