The KEI-week fines the use of laughing gas

TDuring the introduction of first-year students in Groningen, laughing gas balloons are prohibited. Hospitality establishments participating in the famous pub crawl are not allowed to sell laughing gas. If they do, they will receive a fine of 500 euros.

“We do not want to be associated with laughing gas balloons. The Kei-week is against it. Because laughing gas is not yet legally banned, we are taking a stand ourselves. We do not sell laughing gas at our own events,” says chairman Remmie Palland (21) of the KEI-week board to the Dagblad van het Noorden.

Hospitality businesses participating in the Kei-week pub crawl sign a contract stating that they will receive a fine of €500 and be blacklisted should they sell laughing gas balloons. Furthermore, they are prohibited from participating in the pub crawl for the next three years. Kei-week.
