Dinercafé De Markies returns to the Oranjebuurt!
As of September 1st, Dinercafé De Markies is reclaiming its old location, the current Stadstuin Noorderplantsoen. We expect to open the renovated Markies in mid to late October!
Owner Benjamin Kappers (who has been working in the hospitality industry in Groningen for years) is currently making preparations, together with his team, to open in October. Key features of De Markies from the past are being used to bring a completely renewed and contemporary diner café back to the neighborhood.
Guests must feel at ease here. According to Kappers, that is the most important thing in the first instance. That is why the atmosphere will be informal. The interior will be robust and contemporary. This will soon be evident in the warm colors, comfortable chairs, and wooden accents.
Guests can come here for a good glass of wine, a tasty beer, but also for creative non-alcoholic options. A dinner with the whole family or a cozy get-together with drinks. Soon, you will also be able to enjoy our vibrant terrace again, which we dare say is one of the most beautiful terraces in Groningen. From attractively priced main courses to a full evening multi-course dinner, there is something for everyone.
In addition to the à la carte menu, we offer a ‘Markies menu’ with a choice of 2, 3, 4, or 5 courses, which can be expanded upon with a cheese board or charcuterie.
The cuisine has a classic French foundation with international influences. Well-prepared dishes, that's what it's all about! Pure flavors, genuine hospitality!
Dinercafé De Markies will soon be for everyone. An informal, relaxed atmosphere is paramount. Located on the corner of Koninginnelaan and Nassaulaan, De Markies will once again become the meeting place it has always been in the Oranjebuurt. A neighborhood restaurant with allure!
Dinercafé De Markies is open from mid to late October, from Wednesday to Sunday, for drinks and dinner.
