The first round of the ranking for the best café in the Netherlands has concluded. All cafés registered for the Misset Horeca Café Top 100 2016 have been visited by mystery visitors, and no fewer than 135 cafés have advanced to the second round. On to the second round: the professional jury round.
The first round, consisting of mystery visits, has yielded 125 cafes that have advanced to the second round of the ranking after a visit and assessment, reports. Misset HorecaMoreover, the list of eliminated cases was reviewed by the Head Jury, and ten wildcards were awarded based on previous experience and performance. In total, therefore, 135 cases have advanced to the second round, the expert jury round.
Jury round
A team of approximately twenty men and women will visit the selected hospitality establishments over the coming weeks. These individuals form the expert jury and have earned their stripes in the hospitality café sector over the past few years.
Several members of this jury will visit and evaluate the cafés based on a visit of at least 45 minutes. Both food and drinks will be ordered, and aspects such as hospitality, presentation, hygiene, product handling, craftsmanship, business operations, and entrepreneurship will be assessed. The visits have already started and will continue until the end of August.
Audience Award
The Public Award campaign also started on June 13. Every café in the top 125 receives a package with promotional material to promote the campaign among its guests.
Final: Main Jury Round
For the final score, the mystery visits account for 20% and the professional jury visit for 80%. Around the end of August and beginning of September, the 135 establishments will be notified whether or not they are included in the Café Top 100 of 2016. Subsequently, the five or six best cafés will receive a telephone call informing them that they have advanced to the Main Jury Round.
This jury will visit on October 4 or 5 for a final assessment, during which they will speak with the entrepreneur and take a look behind the scenes at the company. After this, the final ranking will be determined.
Announcement
The announcement of the Misset Horeca Café Top 100 takes place on Monday, November 7, 2016, in Hilversum. All companies that made it into the top 100 will receive a personal invitation. Mark November 7 from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM in your calendar!
During this festive evening, in addition to the Top 100, the provincial winner and the Audience Award will also be announced.
