As of December 2016, a group of regional entrepreneurs has taken over Euro Kartracing & Bowling Groningen., located next to Kardinge sports center. With the sale, the continuation of the company is guaranteed. The company will continue on the same course as before and will be continued with the current team of employees.
Euro Kartracing was founded in 1996, and the bowling center was added in 2016. Following the unexpected passing of the former owner last spring, management and operations were temporarily taken over by family members. Through the sale to a group of regional entrepreneurs, the future of the company is now secured.
The consortium behind the acquisition is led by entrepreneurs Gerben de Groot, Patrick Doornbos, Bert Lokken (Vastgoed Groningen), and Jan-Michiel van der Gang. They see Euro Kartracing & Bowling Groningen as a wonderful opportunity. De Groot: “Euro Kartracing & Bowling Groningen is a household name in the Northern Netherlands when it comes to karting and bowling. Together with the current team, we are happy to contribute to continuing the success of the center.”
The Euro Kartracing & Bowling Groningen team plans to further expand the center in the future. The corporate competition may also be revived. According to the entrepreneurs, there is a high demand for this, partly due to Max Verstappen's excellent performance in Formula 1. The bowling center is not being forgotten in the expansion plans. The center may be further expanded, and more attention will be given to theme nights and club nights.
