Florentin, The Stockroom, Herberg Onder de Linden and Lokaal Kilo’s Schuiven join forces and start a new regional lunch: Local HeroesThe first edition of that will take place on Sunday, August 16, during lunch.
Over the past few months, many people in the Northern Netherlands have started eating locally. And not without reason: besides being a nice short drive, it is also very tasty. Three local producers play the leading role in this dinner:
- Bee Landgoud Mustard and spelt, among other things, are grown there. But Hero (what’s in a name) also makes a delicious juice from the redcurrants on the farm, which the people at The Stockroom can use to make a delicious cocktail.
– The shrimps of Solt They do not make the journey that many of their counterparts do: back to the Netherlands via Morocco and Eastern Europe, because labor is cheaper there. These shrimp still taste like real shrimp! And you can taste it.
– On Edwin and Petra's farm, near the Wadden (Wadden pigs so), the pigs have the time and space to grow up peacefully. With respect for animals and nature!
The farmers will also be present during the dinner, so that attendees can ask them questions about the products or their farming methods.
In the kitchen, Tom Bullinga and Steven Klein Nijenhuis are behind the stoves. Tom Bullinga previously worked at Merlet*, among other places, and is now the head chef at Florentin. Chef-Owner Steven, from Herberg Onder de Linden in Aduard, enjoys cooking with seasonal and local products. Behind the bar are Emile Bos – who started Florentin with Bullinga – and the team from The Stockroom. At The Stockroom, you can enjoy amazing cocktails, and naturally, these can also be made with special local products for this lunch.
