‘Green’ into the Groningen city center

The Groningen branch of Bidvest Deli XL has put the first hybrid truck into service. The wholesaler intends to purchase five hybrid trucks this year. The vehicles run on both diesel and electricity and have solar panels on the roof.

Just like the city of Groningen, is also Bidvest Deli XL affiliated with the Green Deal Zero Emission City Logistics, an agreement to reduce CO2 emissions from freight traffic to zero in the city centers of Delft, Groningen, Maastricht, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Zutphen, Arnhem, and Nijmegen. Hybrid driving also contributes to the objective of achieving 20% CO2 reduction by the end of 2015 (since 2008).
