Groningen gets a food hall

Culinary Northern Netherlands comes together on the weekend of January 29, 30 & 31 during the first edition of the FOODHALLEN van het NOORDEN. A weekend where everything revolves around: tasting, experiencing, and enjoying. A weekend where the senses are stimulated and the taste buds are pampered by the best food trucks, pop-up restaurants, delicatessen shops, food bloggers, and the many local products the north of the country has to offer. Carnivores, vegans, foodies, gourmets, and old-fashioned gourmets—there is something for everyone.

The best flavors of the North gathered under one roof. In addition, we organize a Burgundian market where you can find all kinds of regional products from the North, perfect for taking home or giving as a gift. Try a locally brewed craft beer and then sink into a comfortable sofa while watching a fun food film.

The Foodhallen van het Noorden are for everyone. Are you adventurous? Then you can go on a discovery tour, wander around delightfully, and discover all kinds of new flavors. Are you more of a pub-goer? Naturally, there is a large bar, wine and whiskey tastings are coming up, you can get to know local breweries where you can drink a top-notch craft beer, and we will provide a fitting musical program. We have also thought of the little ones; there will be a special entertainment program for them. And for the true foodies who like to roll up their sleeves, there are all kinds of educational workshops and lectures to attend (program to follow).

FOOD HALLS of the NORTH takes place in the old printing press halls of the DVHN building. Beautiful covered and heated spaces where newspapers used to be pressed. A location that breathes nostalgia and seems almost made to offer culinary artisans a magnificent stage. The perfect setting for the largest indoor food and experience festival in the North.
