Groningen from 6th to 9th place with terrace drink prices

Amsterdam is no longer the most expensive city for outdoor terraces in the Netherlands. After nine years, The Hague takes over that title in the annual survey by Van Spronsen & Partners hospitality consultancy from Warmond. On average, one has to pay €21.70 for two beers, two soft drinks, two rosés, and two coffees on a terrace in The Hague.

The Hague is the new frontrunner in the ranking of the most expensive major cities with outdoor terraces, which Van Spronsen & Partners horeca-advies in Warmond is presenting for the tenth time this year. For a round of drinks (2 beers, 2 soft drinks, 2 rosé, and 2 coffees), one has to pay €21.70 in The Hague – last year's number 2 on the list.
Compared to 2012, the price of the round increased by 4 percent (€20.86 in 2012, €21.70 in 2013).

Rotterdam a major riser
From the start ten years ago, Amsterdam was the most expensive city for outdoor cafes in the Netherlands. The capital ranks 5th on the 2013 list at €21.15. In 2012, that same round cost €21, representing a price increase of 0.7 percent.
Rotterdam is the new number 2 (seventh last year) in the overview by Van Spronsen & Partners. In Rotterdam, the eight drinks cost €21.45. The price difference compared to 2012 is 8.3 percent (2012: €19.80).

Haarlem and ‘s-Hertogenbosch
Haarlem and ’s-Hertogenbosch retain their positions and are in third and fourth place respectively. The price for a round in Haarlem is €21.30 (last year €20.80), while in Eindhoven the bill is €21.20 (20.63).

Nijmegen cheapest
Nijmegen remains the cheapest city for outdoor terraces. Although the price difference compared to 2012 is 2.2 percent, the city in Gelderland remains 21st (and last). This year, a round of drinks costs €19, whereas in 2012, the eight drinks cost €18.60.
