Groningen Wine Festival 2016

The first Groningen Wine Festival will take place in Der Aa-kerk during the weekend of Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2.

The festival features 32 exhibitors, ranging from liquor stores and wineries to importers, who want to offer Groningen's wine lovers something beautiful and interesting to taste and experience this weekend. The extensive selection at the festival showcases wines from all over the world. Wines from more well-known regions such as France, Chile, and Australia can be tasted. But wines from lesser-known regions such as Georgia or Romania can also be found at the festival. This wide range of wines offers something interesting for everyone to taste this weekend.

Marijke van der Ploeg (wine expert), Edmond Wöltgens (Beans & Grapes) and Pol de Bruin (Brasserie MidiThey met after a visit to the Whisky Festival and wondered why something like that wasn't yet being organized for wines in Groningen, and so it happened.

The three did not go unanswered, and Groningen wine lovers responded en masse. The wine festival is set to welcome over two thousand people to Der Aa-kerk this weekend.
