Horecabeurs Noord Nederland celebrates atmospheric anniversary edition

Workshops, trade competitions, and the finest, newest products and services in the hospitality sector: with the theme ‘The Power of Craftsmanship’, the Horecabeurs Noord Nederland attracted approximately 2,000 visitors to the Martinikerk in Groningen on October 3, 2016.

Met 60 stands en het nieuwe Lijfering Bierplaza was de lustrumeditie van de beurs nóg groter en veelzijdiger dan voorgaande jaren. Zo konden aanwezigen proeven van Brûswyn (Friese sjampagne) van Wijngaard de Frysling en de heerlijke happerijen van de Culinaire Vakschool. Bij MW Bedrijfskleding en Happy@Work kon men inspiratie opdoen over bedrijfskleding in de horeca en ook waren de lederen schorten van Van Oosterum Leder zeer in trek bij zowel bezoekers als medewerkers. Bijzondere toevoeging was het grootse kunstwerk ‘View from the grave’ van Olga Wiese, waarmee een schilderij tot een ware beleving werd verheven.

At the well-attended Cocktail Plaza & Spirits, there were presentations and entertaining stories from the Smaakmakers of Hooghoudt, including Laurens Speek, Lennart Deddens, and Peter Torenbosch. Ulas Tarakci gave educational demonstrations on creating trendy latte art, and tensions ran high during the infamous Klaar Af Kook competition.
The annual professional competitions drew a large crowd, and rightly so, as the standard of the competitions was high. The Northern Netherlands can be proud of the craft of our chefs, baristas, and beer tapsters:
