Few top female chefs in the Netherlands

The number of top female chefs is on the rise worldwide, except in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, we currently have two chefs awarded a Michelin star: Marleen Brouwer of restaurant Noor in Groningen and Margo Reuten of restaurant Da Vinci in Maasbracht. In total, 6.04% of the 2,286 Michelin-starred restaurants are led by a woman, and 6.73% of the world's top 100 restaurants have a female chef. The United States and England score high with 7% and 6% female top chefs, respectively. Spain and Italy lead the way with 11% and 10% female chefs at the top, respectively. It is time for the Netherlands to catch up.

Until the next flash!
