Monday, November 17, 2014, marks the kick-off of a recurring event centered on Jenever: Jenever Proat!!! An initiative by Lennart Deddens, bar manager and distiller at Mofongo’s Distillery on Oude Boteringestraat and Felix Huisken, owner of Cafe Singelier in Helpman. Both are fans of this pioneering Dutch product in the world of spirits and would like to share their passion with colleagues in the city and other Jenever aficionados.

This is the first Jenever Proat, a preview of what you can expect in 2015 during the previously announced Horeca evenings on Mondays in Mofongo’s DistilleryOver the course of a year, we want to share as much knowledge about Jenever with you as possible and review all possible options regarding the use of this traditional product. As the grand finale, we will eventually distill a jenever together at Mofongo’s Distillery.

– Tastings of various Jenevers from across the country. A surprise package from Felix and Lennart
– A presentation on the history and production method of Jenever
– An off-the-record launch of a new Hooghoudt product in collaboration with Jorrit van Geel
