The International Film Festival Assen | Woman & Film (IFA) started offering an annual platform for female filmmakers in 2015: KersVers. For 2016, we are also looking for professional filmmakers and up-and-coming, semi-professional talent from the Netherlands.
Due to the great success of 2015, KersVers now also has an international focus, and so we are pushing the boundaries. Starting with IFA 2016, KersVers is being expanded by recruiting work by female filmmakers from the Netherlands as well as another country that varies annually. We are starting this year by selecting films from Germany.
By stimulating talent development internationally as well, we aim to contribute to expanding the network of (inter)national talent. The IFA wishes to reflect the great diversity among female film talent and is therefore open for submissions of both documentary and fiction films of short or long running time, produced between January 1, 2014, and December 31, 2015. Selected films will be screened during the festival at theater ‘De Nieuwe Kolk’ on March 12 or 13, 2016. This distinctive focus has ensured that the IFA is recognized and appreciated within the cultural field as an event unique to the Netherlands.
