Klaar Af Kook gets a second edition

Following a successful first edition, the second edition of Klaar Af Kook, the premier cooking competition of the North, will take place on Monday, October 12, during the Horecabeurs Noord Nederland. The Martinikerk will be the setting for an exciting competition in which professional (and aspiring) chefs compete against each other. While the first round involves cooking with a pre-known selection of ingredients, the second and final rounds will depend entirely on the ingenuity and creativity of the chefs.

“The enthusiasm last year was so great that we are going all out again this year with a second edition of this wonderful competition,” said Joris van Berkel, the driving force behind the event.

According to a knockout system, the various chefs will compete against each other in the preliminary rounds, cooking in pools of four chefs simultaneously. The best eight chefs from the preliminary rounds advance to the semi-finals. In the final, the best four chefs from the semi-finals compete against each other, where the winner receives the coveted door sticker in addition to a magnificent prize. With this door sticker, the company can demonstrate that the best chef in the Northern Netherlands is working for them.

As the main sponsor of the event, are Bidvest DeliXL and Rational Commercial Kitchen Technology found willing to make kitchen equipment and ingredients available; both companies are wholesalers for the hospitality industry. Knives & Tools has made knife sets available which the finalists will take home after the match.

From May 27, 2015, participants can register at www.klaarafkook.nl.
