Koster bids farewell to Café Koster

Last Friday, March 4, landlord Willem Koster enjoyed his well-attended farewell party, ‘Goodbye, Willem’. The pub owner is calling it quits; he is tired of the long days and nights. Nevertheless, the bartender of Café Koster will continue to return on Fridays and Sundays and will keep doing what he loves most: the music programming, reports Dagblad van het Noorden.

Regular visitors of café Koster Willem and his friends put together a program full of music last Friday to put proprietor Koster in the spotlight one last time and thank him for his meaningful services. With music by The Bips, Daves Of Our Lives, Arjan van der Linde, and Bart Schwertmann, and an open mic called ‘Koster Session’, the café was packed according to visitors.

Parting
The so-called village pub in town is getting new owners and, with them, a new name. As of April 1st, operators Marco and Jan will take over the business. Koster is saying goodbye to Café Koster after twenty years. But not entirely; he will still be seen at the establishment on Fridays and Sundays when live music is playing.

Music

Agenda
This coming Friday, March 11, the Fog Eaters will be performing from 10:00 PM, and on Sunday, March 13, patrons and music lovers can enjoy the Joost De Lange Blues Experience at 4:00 PM in the café at Hoogstraatje 7. Admission is free.
