The 2013 pub guide will be released soon. A full-scale effort is currently underway to visit hundreds of pubs in the city and the suburbs.
The first edition of the Groninger Kroegenboek was published in 1981. The last edition was published in 1996. According to initiator Joris van Berkel, it is high time to release a renewed edition.
About ten pub regulars from the city are contributing to the book. The foreword is written by Youp van ‘t Hek. The presentation of the 2013 Pub Book will take place on October 7 during the Hospitality trade fair in the Martinikerk.
In addition to our team of writers who approach various pubs and write articles about them, we at Kroegenboek Groningen invite guests and owners of various hospitality establishments in the city of Groningen to write down their best anecdotes (maximum 150 words) and email them to redactie@kroegenboekgroningen.nl.
The most remarkable anecdotes will be included in the Pub Guide and listed on the website. www.kroegenboekgroningen.nlPhotos in the possession of private individuals and of special events are also welcome.
Submissions must be received no later than August 16.
