June 21, 2016 · Team HG

From November 8 to 12, the fourth edition of Let’s Gro takes place: the festival about the future of Groningen (and the region). The Holland Webweek Groningen (THWWG) was to be organized again this year, following a successful start in 2015.
Because THWWG overlaps with Let’s Gro in themes and vision, both organizations entered into dialogue and decided to join forces. The best of both worlds has been brought together, and both organizations will continue under the name Let’s Gro, with the common denominator and subtitle: 'Tomorrow's way of life'.
The program
Let’s Gro 2016 is about the Groningen of tomorrow. How do we ensure affordable healthcare and the connection between education and the labor market? How can technology contribute to a city where it is even better to live and do business? Where do the opportunities and challenges lie?
Successful elements of Holland WebWeek Groningen are being integrated into the Let’s Gro program. These include the ‘Battle of the Schools’, in which teams of MBO and HBO students work on various ‘future-proof’ assignments for 48 hours; the public day, ‘IT’s Saturday’, a day showcasing the fun and exciting sides of IT and online for young and old; and, of course, the challenging thematic meetings and inspiring evening sessions.
The organization will announce the exact details of the program after the summer.
Ideas from the city welcome
The organization provides space for inspiration and initiatives from people and organizations in the city and compiles a program itself around a number of themes. A condition for submitting ideas is that they must concern the city of tomorrow. The central question is: how does your idea contribute to a better, more beautiful, and smarter Groningen, and will it have a follow-up after Let’s Gro? On August 12, 2016, initiators can register via an online registration form at letsgro.nl submit their ideas and plans. This means that people and organizations have time in the summer to develop an idea. All conditions attached to submitting an idea are listed on www.letsgro.nl
