‘Let’s KEI together’ theme of KEI Week 2016!

The theme for the 48th KEI Week was presented in a playful manner at the KEI board’s constitution party. Through an announcement video, it was revealed that the theme of KEI Week 2016 is ‘Let’s KEI together’. Together with the entire city of Groningen, the first-year students are welcomed, marking the start of a successful student life for them.

According to Nienke van Sligter, chair of the 2016 KEI board, the theme shows that KEI Week cannot be organized without the help and dedication of many hands. By collaborating with various student organizations, city residents, the municipality, and educational institutions, a fantastic KEI Week will be put together, ensuring first-year students get their student life off to a good start.

The vibrant logo fits the theme and the program well. Everyone is connected and needed to make the 2016 KEI Week a reality. The different colors represent the diversity within the program. The 2016 KEI Week will take place from August 15 to 19, and according to Nienke van Sligter, the main outlines of the program will remain the same this year: “The Grand Opening on Monday and the Night of the Songs on Tuesday will take place again this year to be experienced together with all of Groningen.”

Naturally, elements of the program will also be changed or added in the coming year: “For instance, culture will take on a completely different format in the form of a new event ‘Culture Night’, there will be more focus on internationalization, and the emphasis will once again be on sustainability”.
