At the City of Groningen Food Bank, everyone is a volunteer, from the cleaners to the board. Six days a week, they are ready to provide others with food. This does not go unnoticed, and consequently, all volunteers were invited by the owners of the restaurant. Restaurant Weeva to enjoy a fully catered buffet.
WEEVA stands for Woon En Eethuis Voor Allen (Living and Eating House for All), formerly a community soup kitchen where people could eat for a reasonable price. In that sense, the WEEVA of the past has a connection with the Voedselbank Stad Groningen (City Food Bank Groningen), namely in providing food for people who do not have much to spend. The rich history of the WEEVA is reflected in the ambiance and the menu.
We enjoyed it immensely and would like to thank the WEEVA very much for making this lovely dinner possible.
