Night mayor wants fountain on the Grote Markt in Groningen

Following the “improvement wishes” from Groningen residents presented by the D66 party group to Groningen’s Night Mayor, Chris Garrit, a poll among Groningen residents is now being conducted. Many of the collected wishes concerned a new meeting place near a fountain, preferably surrounded by some greenery. It is intended to become a place for unwinding in the busy city center.

According to the night mayor, this could also perfectly well be a fountain that is not visible during the day and is only turned on when the market is closed.
You can vote on the Night Mayor's website to install a fountain on the Grote Markt.
If there proves to be sufficient interest, a detailed plan will be presented to the new municipal executive.
