Ultimately, basic wages will apply from the age of 18 in about 3-4 years, provided the employee has sufficient hours of experience with their employer as a skilled worker. In doing so, KHN is following market developments for skilled workers. Without sufficient hours of experience, the statutory minimum (youth) wage remains possible.

KHN advice: average performance increase of 0.7 percent
The KHN Model Employment Conditions Regulations provide for an annual performance-based increase for skilled workers with a salary between the base and maximum salary of the salary scale. KHN advises maintaining an average percentage of at least 0.7 percent for satisfactory performance. For employees who are already above the pay scale, we suggest granting the 0.7 percent as well, but only if the employee performs satisfactorily.

KHN is committed to good and transparent labor relations.
KHN also believes that employees are one of the most important factors appreciated by guests. Therefore, KHN continues to work towards good and transparent agreements between employees and employers. Currently, there is no collective labour agreement because the FNV Horecabond is unwilling to cooperate on properly organizing flexibility under the Work and Security Act.

KHN has for you as a member the KHN model Employment Conditions Regulations drawn up including model employment contracts and a salary table. This ensures that employment conditions are transparent and comparable for employees as well.

76 percent of KHN members think twice about permanent employment.
Employment in the hospitality sector is growing. However, KHN remains concerned regarding the government's approach and the limitations surrounding the Work and Security Act. The government has not yet offered a solution for the heavy obligations faced by small employers when they are required to continue paying wages during illness. Unintended and undesirable effects have also arisen from the Work and Security Act, which still need to be rectified. This is of great importance to our sector, in which we provide seasonal employment with peaks and troughs. A recent poll among our KHN members shows that 76 percent think twice before considering permanent employment.
