Hand Hospitality Platform hetlaatstetafeltje.nl, is launching a remarkable coronavirus support initiative today. The campaign enables consumers to show their support for their favorite restaurant while simultaneously doing something nice for healthcare workers or those in need.
Consumers can buy gift vouchers at their favorite restaurant and at the same time send a gift ‘for free’ to someone they can hardly reach due to the crisis, want to cheer up, or want to thank for their help!
The gift is a box of quality chocolates with a personal message. The buyer of the voucher can specify who the chocolates should be sent to. This can be to the buyer's own address, but it is of course nice to send them to a care worker or someone in need.
The gift is provided by the hospitality industry and Het Laatste Tafeltje as a thank you for the consumer's trust. After the crisis, the voucher buyer will have the value of the voucher deducted from their bill at the restaurant of their choice. The chosen person will receive a box of chocolates with a nice message. A win-win that makes everyone happy just before Easter!

In pre-coronavirus times, Het Laatste Tafeltje was a platform for hospitality entrepreneurs to achieve better occupancy rates through special offers. Consumers could discover new hospitality establishments, products, or menus at a discount. More than 1,000 hospitality businesses are registered as providers, and the platform has over 100,000 dedicated users.
Het Laatste Tafeltje is initiating this campaign entirely selflessly. There are no obligations for the hospitality industry, such as fixed contributions or discounts. Furthermore, no commissions are charged on sales. The goal is to bring forward as much funds as possible for the hospitality sector during these difficult times. The campaign is also open to non-participating hospitality businesses under the same conditions, so if your favorite restaurant isn't listed yet, feel free to suggest it!
In the coming difficult weeks, Het Laatste Tafeltje will dedicate itself to bringing this campaign to the attention of as many media outlets as possible, in addition to its own audience, in order to garner as much support as possible for the initiative and thereby support the hospitality industry, healthcare workers, and those in need. They could really use your help with this.
While the government support measures are indeed promising for the hospitality sector as well (hats off!), in many cases they have no effect yet, are not yet accessible, or are simply insufficient.
Not every hospitality entrepreneur has, proverbially speaking, enough fat on the bones. Just try surviving then. Consumers want to eat out, but are simply not allowed to. With this campaign, the initiators hope that the money that is available in the economy keeps circulating. In this way, the hospitality industry brings forward revenue, increasing the chance of survival, while the customer also supports other healthcare workers or those in need and can look forward to a wonderful welcome!
An arrangement has been made to safeguard voucher buyers in the unlikely event that business closures occur among the participating hospitality establishments.
