Online meeting about the future of the city and the Groningen hospitality industry

On Monday, July 5, an online meeting regarding the future of the Groningen hospitality industry is on the agenda. The reason for this is the draft vision ‘Space for Retail – a new vision for retail and hospitality‘, which the Municipal Executive released on Thursday, July 1.

What can you expect

Led by the presenter Wilbert van de Kamp (known from, among others) Shifting Kilograms Locally) and organizer Joris van Berkel (among others Horecagroningen.nlA roundtable discussion will take place regarding the vision for and future of the city of Groningen's hospitality industry with various guests. The following themes will be covered: the future of nightlife, daytime hospitality, and the delivery economy. You can join the discussion and submit your questions or comments via the chat function.

Purpose of the conversation

Our guests will discuss the above themes together and share their views. There is also the opportunity for (online) viewers to join the discussion via the chat function on this page and submit their questions or comments. The goal of the discussion is to familiarize yourself with the new vision ‘Space for Retail – future of retail and hospitality in the Municipality of Groningen, update of the city centre vision’, and to provide feedback and ideas before the vision is definitively adopted in November.

The hospitality industry in the city of Groningen

The hospitality industry in Groningen is versatile and dynamic, consisting of a varied range of traditional businesses, chains, retail/restaurant combinations, and cuisines, and has been growing for years.
