Last Tuesday, March 29, the Paviljoen van de Dame opened its doors to invited guests; a spectacular, well-attended afternoon. From today, March 30, 2016, the spacious pavilion is open to everyone.
After a spectacular introduction, a speech by owner Imogen Wills, and the inflation of a wall full of balloons, it is Pavilion of the Lady Officially opened on Groningerweg. Everything has been thought out down to the last detail. The guests are well taken care of, glasses are refilled, and Asian appetizers are being passed around.
Layout
The restaurant consists of a large, open space surrounded by glass walls. The large, industrial-looking bar is situated in the center of the establishment and serves as the eye-catcher. The chefs can be easily observed through the open kitchen, and in no time you are outside on the large terrace featuring several jetties. At the front is an exclusive space for private dining and wine tasting, and upstairs are various rooms for parties and meetings. Finally, there is a beautiful, spacious rooftop terrace with a view of the vast Paterswoldsemeer.
Guests
When asked what kind of people Imogen Wills hopes to welcome to the pavilion, she replies that everyone is welcome. “We initially took ourselves as the target group. We are both people with busy jobs, a child, and we love a bite to eat and a drink of affordable quality,” the owner explains.
The quality is there; the establishment by the water exudes true luxury. And yet, you can also come here perfectly fine in jeans to eat a fresh lobster on ‘Lobster Monday’, notes the proud Imogen Wills.
