We are a young, new brewery in beautiful Groningen! Groningen has a very rich beer history dating back to the time when it was the granary of the Netherlands and part of the Hanseatic League. Unfortunately, this richness in beer knowledge has eroded over the years, but we are going to change that!
We launched our beers in April 2014. These are Kon Minder, an American-style blonde, and Koud Vuur, a smoked porter. We give well-known craft beers a twist and utilize influences and techniques that have come over from Great Britain and America. We hope to see you at one of our events. www.baxbier.com
Susan Huitenga (Mout)
I consider the hospitality industry a craft. It is hard work and requires a lot of knowledge and dedication. After years of experience, I have proven myself in this field. In restaurants, cafés, and hotels, among others, but eventually also in my own little place by the Ionian Sea. Here in Groningen, I am known as the face of the Belgian café De Pintelier. Funnily enough, I was pleasantly surprised there by the tasty Dutch beer.
Now, there is finally time for MOUT. A project into which I want to pour all my love for the craft and enthusiasm. I want to create a business that not only our brewers, but also the residents of the city of Groningen can be proud of.
We will be launching the crowdfunding soon. We desperately need your help to realize our dream: a tasting room for Dutch (micro)brewers!
