Entrepreneurs Anika and Anna successfully completed the crowdfunding campaign for their hostel project in May 2016 and subsequently set to work building full-time. After months of carpentry, sawing, painting, and furnishing, the hostel is finally ready to welcome guests.
To introduce everyone to the hostel on the former Suikerunie site in Groningen, the rebels of February 11 to 18 a festive week.
The time has come, Rebel Rebel Hostel is open! Rooms can now be booked via the website.
The opening week is a reflection of everything the hostel represents. On Saturday the 11th, the kick-off is with ‘Rebel against Skincancer’, an awareness festival in collaboration with Stichting Spot The Dot. One of the hostel’s key priorities is organizing activities for its guests, and this manifests itself this week in a number of events such as: DIY Tuesday, making cassette lamps on Valentine’s Day; Get Flexible, a yoga day; and Rebel Sessions, bands in our living room in collaboration with DATmag. To conclude, there is a big opening party on Saturday the 18th with music, a campfire, good times, and an anti-hangover breakfast for the guests.
Everyone is invited to the opening week, and the rebels hope that investors as well as family, friends, Groningers, and other interested parties will come and take a look.
