Restaurant De Pauw closes its doors

POn August 1st of this year, owner Theo Mulder will permanently close the doors of Restaurant De Pauw after being open for 37 years.

Mulder tells the Dagblad van het Noorden that the closure has numerous causes.

We did not modernize the business in time to attract young people.

Due to, among other things, a hospitality boom in the city of Groningen, people can only spend their money once and it is difficult to find qualified staff.

Last year, the building changed hands, which might have led to a renovation of the residential floors, potentially resulting in a rent reduction. Unfortunately, this was delayed, and due to a lack of reserves and to avoid bankruptcy, De Pauw will close in three weeks.
