Restaurant accidentally serves £4,500 wine

IIn Manchester, a restaurant made a blunder by accidentally serving an exorbitantly expensive wine.

The guests had ordered a bottle of Château Pichon Longueville for £260, but due to a staff error, they received a Château le Pin Pomerol for around £4,500 (+/- €5,100), writes the BBC.

The guests initially did not realize that the staff had made a mistake and found the wine so delicious that they wanted to order a second bottle. According to the restaurant owner, it could be concluded that the guests at least enjoyed the expensive mistake.
In any case, the employee who made the mistake does not have to fear for her job.

Owner Will Beckett: “I’m going to tease her about this incident when she’s not so paralyzed by the shock anymore.”

Restaurant Hawksmoor Manchester shows a photo of the two bottles on Twitter with a touch of self-mockery.
