The theme of the 50th KEI-week: ‘Destination KEI: your ticket to gold’.

On February 15, the theme for KEI Week 2018 was announced. During the theme announcement party, the theme was introduced with an introductory video. ‘Destination KEI: your ticket to gold’ was subsequently shown as the new theme.

The Chairman of the Executive Board of the KEI Foundation, Marc Boels, said the following regarding the theme: “The upcoming first-year students are all starting a new chapter in their lives; they are going to university. For many of them, Groningen will be the destination where they begin this new chapter.” During KEI Week, information is provided about everything student life in Groningen has to offer the upcoming first-year student. This includes information about student associations, nightlife, being active alongside your studies, and much more. “KEI Week is the best time to arrive at your destination, to get the most out of your student time in Groningen,” stated Marc Boels. The new logo was also unveiled during the theme announcement.

“A golden ticket is incorporated into the logo. This ticket symbolizes the KEI-week, as the KEI-week is the start of a golden student life,” says Boels.

This year, Stichting KEI is celebrating its 10th anniversary, which is reflected in the logo through the use of gold tones. These gold tones will be incorporated into the decorations at the events during KEI Week in the coming year. In particular, the Open Air Festival on Thursday, August 16, 2018, will be dedicated to the 50th anniversary. Stichting KEI wishes to celebrate its 50th anniversary with all of Groningen, so everyone is welcome to attend this event. In addition to Stichting KEI's anniversary, extra attention will also be paid to sustainability and student housing in the coming year. KEI Week takes place this year from August 13 to 17, 2018.
