The festival programmer – Jeroen Berends – is happy to give you some great tips for Let’s Gro, because with 122 events, we can certainly imagine that choosing can be quite difficult at times 😉. Read his tips below and/or check out the full program.
Start Friday with #06 Smart about Cities about cities as engines of economic growth. And how they make us healthier, greener, and happier! Afterwards, you can move on to #111 where Dave van Ooijen talks about the Civic Economy.
Is sharing the new owning? It certainly is at Free Cafe #02, where everything you see and eat is donated. The best way to reach the cafe is by bike, which you can have pimped by a group of artists while you enjoy a vegan meal (an emerging trend!). For free! Let’s Gro is a free festival anyway, isn't that nice?
And speaking of bikes: be sure to also take a look inside the 050 Fiets Ambassade (#52), right in the heart of the city. On Friday evening, we recommend #44 Digital Trends in Groningen: about the future of retail, mobile, internet of things, and big data. Very Future Proof! Then hop on your bike quickly and race to Paradigm for #03 ’N VET NACHTDEBAT and afterwards hit the dance floor at the afterparty. Just Dance!
On SaturdayIn the morning, you first bake an apple pie that you will have judged in the afternoon by the Heel Grunn Bakt jury (do sign up, check #68). While the pie cools, you join Jane’s Walk #08, which ends in the Ebbingekwartier, where (wannabe) fitness enthusiasts get acquainted with (and participate in) #110 Calisthenics and Freerunning. Also around the corner: the MOBi pavilion with an oyster mushroom farm and art exhibition.
Back at the Grote Markt, you give your opinion on how the city center should develop in discussion buzz #89. Then on to Mayor Vreeman, who looks back on his mayoralty.
If you think you're done then… uh, no! Because a visit to #16 Food & Lifestyle event Smoak is a must-go, certainly for beard lovers (m/f) as well. Before night falls and you plunge into the festivities at the #112 Art Basement Afterparty, finally #54 De Bonte Binnenstad Show and our own Late Night: Let’s Klets.
Wishing you lots of fun and inspiration!
