On June 24 and 25, the first edition of the International Craft Beer Festival Groningen will take place at the Ossenmarkt. Organized by Baxbier, the event aims to introduce visitors to the finest beers from across Europe while enjoying live music and delicious food.
The historic Ossenmarkt will therefore serve as the backdrop for the sunniest beer festival in the north this coming weekend. Among others Brewdog and Tempest from Scotland, H2ÖL from Spain and Stone Brewing from the United States are present. There is also plenty of attention paid to local beers and breweries. In total, there are over 65 beers in more than 30 different styles to taste. From Berliner Weisse to IPA, by Blond to Imperial StoutThere is something for everyone.
In addition to the tasting, there will also be plenty to do, assures Jeroen Bax. “For example, a sloop will be shuttling back and forth from the Heerenhuis between the Ossenmarkt and our brewery on the Reitdiep for free all weekend.” Bax is certainly looking forward to it: “We have been working on this for so long, and now it is almost here. We are going to make it a wonderful celebration full of great encounters and special beers, but above all, let’s not take it too seriously.”
Tickets are available in advance via Facebook, the website of Bax beer and via Eventbrite, and if still available, also at the door.
