What are the most important changes regarding personnel in 2016? We have listed them for you.

There are important changes regarding the state pension age and the possibility of allowing someone to continue working in a company after reaching this age. Additionally, as of January 1st of this year, entrepreneurs are required to transfer net wages by bank transfer. We would also like to remind you once again of the transition payment.

Continuing to work after retirement
In 2016, it is easier to let employees continue working after reaching the state pension age. There does not need to be a gap between contracts, so as an employer, you can offer your employee consecutive fixed-term employment contracts.

Net salary mandatory bank transfer
In 2016, entrepreneurs also faced stricter rules regarding the payment and administration of wages. For example, entrepreneurs are no longer permitted to pay their employees' wages in cash. The net amount on the payslip may only be transferred via bank transfer. Net refers to the result remaining on the payslip as the net amount payable. Furthermore, you must ensure that the payslip is clear and easy to understand, with the amounts explained. All deductions and offsets must also be itemized.

Transition payment
The transition payment, which entrepreneurs have had time to get used to since 2015, remains unchanged. If you terminate or do not renew the employment contract (temporary or permanent) and your employee has worked for you for 24 months or longer (in total), you must pay a transition payment. All months count, provided there is no interruption of six months or longer between different (temporary) contracts.
