This coming October 3rd, the Hospitality Fair Northern Netherlands In 2016, it will once again be the platform for the North Netherlands Tap Competition, organized by Stichting Tapwedstrijden.nlThe regional preliminary round of the Horecabeurs Noord Nederland (Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe) will send three winners directly to the national Tap Final at HORECAVA in Amsterdam in January 2017.
The jury assesses the tapped beer on criteria including the head and presentation, as well as 34 other points. In total, regional competitions are being organized at approximately 40 locations throughout the Netherlands. Over 1,000 beer tapsters will compete against each other to ultimately reach the national final in January 2017. The championship is an initiative of Stichting Tapwedstrijden.nl and takes place to further improve draft quality in the Dutch hospitality industry.
Per tap competition, which follows a fixed protocol and quality requirements is organized, the best three bartenders will advance to the final, which will take place in January 2017 at the Horecava hospitality trade fair in Amsterdam.

The Dutch Beer Tapping Championship is organized by the Tapwedstrijden.nl Foundation to enthuse and familiarize hospitality professionals with the correct tapping and pouring of beer. Since the founding of the Tapwedstrijden.nl Foundation in 2010, approximately 240 tapping competitions have taken place and 5 Dutch Champions have been crowned. Tapping competitions can be organized by any hospitality business or enthusiastic hospitality professionals. The Tapwedstrijden Foundation supports local tapping competitions with a support package, and the winners of local competitions advance to the final.
