Sixth edition of the beer and food competition

During the sixth edition of Bierfestival Groningen on April 8 and 9, a beer and food pairing competition will be organized once again. This competition focuses on the combination of beer and food, which will be judged by a professional jury.

Beer and food pairings have become increasingly well-known over the years. After all, beer contains all the basic flavors found in food. Beer has a much wider range of flavors than wine. This offers opportunities for restaurants and eateries. A well-known example is a craft beer paired with a piece of cheese, often artisanal. However, there are countless other combinations that already exist or that could still be devised.

We would like to challenge hospitality and catering businesses to present fun beer and food pairings during the Groningen Beer Festival. A prize will be awarded for the best, tastiest, and most exciting combination on Saturday afternoon, April 9, in the chapel of the Martinikerk.
