On June 18, 2016, News Café, in collaboration with Swingin’ Groningen, celebrates its twentieth anniversary around the Waagplein in Groningen. With performances by Berget Lewis and others, the party will start outside at the Waagplein, after which it will continue inside The Club at News Café.
Swingin’ Groningen is a crossover music event taking place throughout the city center of Groningen from June 16 to 18. On various stages in the city, one can enjoy styles such as funk, soul, and groove, as well as all other musical genres that originated from jazz.
Outside: Waagplein
On Saturday, June 18, the stage on the Waagplein will also largely be dedicated to the from 8:30 PM onwards. party by News Café with performances by Want2Swing, James & Black, and Will Nuruwe & Berget Lewis until approximately 1:00 AM.
Inside: The Club
From 10:00 PM, the anniversary party will also start indoors, in the basement of the News Café building: The Club. After undergoing a complete redesign, this club is now an atmospheric space that can be considered a ‘Premium Event Location’. The line-up remains a surprise for now, but admission is free.
