Ludina Terras a favorite with the Dutch public

The Misset Horeca Terras Top 100, which launched in April of this year, has produced a great result for Groningen regarding the Public Award. The Ludina Terras on the Turfsingel took first place with 1,340 votes in the Public Award category. The professional jury of the Top 100 placed the terrace at number 22.^e place, and with that, it is also the provincial winner.

The winner of the Terrace Top 100 is Restaurant The Haystack in Roosendaal. But with an overwhelming show of force, they managed The Ludina Terrace to win the Terras Top 100 2016 Public Award in Groningen. The popular terrace, part of Café De Toeter, made a huge final sprint in the last days of the voting round and managed to leave the runner-up behind by 466 votes, according Misset Horeca.

Facebook votes
All terraces that participated in the contest to be named the best terrace of 2016 were allowed to call upon their guests to vote for them via Facebook. Many businesses did this with original reward promotions for the voters. Consequently, Ludina Terras came up with the idea to raffle off a brewing workshop for seven people and give away 100 bottles of their own brewed beer. Partly due to this raffle, but also by persistently asking people to cast their vote, Ludina Terras garnered an impressive number of votes.

Ludina Terrace
The winning terrace is situated on top of the Groningen tjalk Ludina, which hails from [the name of the ship]. This terrace is the first in Groningen to be located on the water. Guests are served from the sister ship named De Rikste, built in 1910. The Rockin’ Ludina Brewery is located on board the ship; Cascade hops grow in the mast, inspiring the brewers to create various beers, from ‘Barbarossa’ to ‘Noah’s Ark’.

At Het Ludina Terras, beers can be tasted, guests can have lunch, and sample various tapas or food and beer dishes. When asked by Misset Horeca what the important points are on the terrace, owner Maik van Heerd mentions the following terms: hospitality, etiquette, upselling, the home-brewed beer, fast service, and saying goodbye to the guest.

Groningen
In addition to winning the Audience Award, the Misset Horeca professional jury awarded the Ludina Terrace the 22^e place in the Top 100. With this ranking, the terrace is also the provincial winner for Groningen. Groningen colleague The Feith House achieved 66th place and landed at number eleven for the Public Prize.
