The organization of the tenth edition of Proeven in Groningen was in full swing. Unfortunately, the organizers received several cancellations from participants last week. As a result, too few restaurants remained to successfully organize the event. The board therefore felt compelled to cancel the event for this year, however regrettable that may be.
The board of Stichting Proeven in Groningen looks back on nine successful editions held during the first weekend of September. The original initiators conceived the event because fewer and fewer activities were being organized in the city at the time, and there were no longer any culinary events. Now, that situation has completely reversed: the first weekend of September is fortunately packed with activities, and a great many fun initiatives have emerged in the culinary field as well.
The organization is pleased to see that the hospitality industry in and around Groningen is thriving. The board of Proeven in Groningen thanks all participants, suppliers, sponsors, and volunteers from the past nine years!
